Oregon landlords and property managers have new data to follow as eviction filings continue at historically high levels across the state primarily due to non-payment of rent.

The Evicted in Oregon research project updated its statewide eviction database Aug. 15, with the latest 12-month reporting period now covering August 2025 through July 2026. The database tracks eviction cases filed in Oregon circuit courts and provides statewide and county-level information on filings, filing rates and case outcomes.

While most eviction cases filed do not actually result in an eviction, the filings underscore the continued problem of non-payment of rent.

The latest update follows a record year for eviction cases in Oregon. Researchers reported 32,704 eviction cases were filed statewide in 2025, up from 30,507 in 2024 — an increase of about 7.2 percent. Those annual totals include cases filed in both circuit and justice courts.

The regularly updated statewide data also come with an important limitation. The monthly database primarily tracks cases filed in Oregon circuit courts, which researchers estimate account for about 90 percent of eviction cases statewide. Cases filed in justice courts make up the remaining roughly 10 percent, meaning the monthly figures should be viewed as a lower-bound measure rather than a complete count.

For landlords and property managers, the continued volume of cases underscores the importance of following Oregon’s detailed requirements for termination notices and eviction proceedings. It also provides another indicator of the financial pressures affecting both renters and rental housing providers.

The Evicted in Oregon database is updated monthly and provides data by year as well as information for individual counties.
